Phoenix gals down East Juniata; first home game set for late October

 

McALISTERVILLE, PA – The Sugar Valley Phoenix volleyball team was on the road again Wednesday night and returned from Juniata County with a straight set, 3-0 win over East Juniata, the scores 25-22, 25-20 and 25-16.

This puts them at a 5-2 record on the year. The Sugar Valley JV team will travel to Shamokin on Saturday to play in their JV Tournament starting at 9 a.m. The SV varsity team will be in action Monday, Oct. 11 against Grier Boarding School, with a trip to Loyalsock to follow on Tuesday of next week.

Meanwhile a long-awaited first-ever home match is approaching as Sugar Valley’s new gym nears completion. Athletic Director Tyler Koser said the first event should be a “green-out” with Williamson on Thursday, Oct. 28. All Phoenix volleyball games have been away since the program started five seasons ago..
