LOCK HAVEN, PA – The 50th annual Lock Haven Area Jaycees Labor Day Regatta got off to a smooth start Saturday, part of a three day run along E. Water Street and the adjacent Susquehanna River.

Jaycee volunteer Duwayne Kunes said a record-breaking 430 boaters are in attendance for the anniversary event. The turnout is remarkable, given some would be boaters were unable to attend due to the remnants of Hurricane Ida which deluged much of the northeastern United States earlier in the week.

Boat racing will continue Sunday and Monday and the organization’s biggest fireworks display in the event’s 50 year history is scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
