Re: Make Your Voice Heard in PA Redistricting

Editor:

Redistricting is the redrawing of legislative districts. By federal law redistricting must occur following a census. New districts must be drawn when a state gains or losses congressional districts as a result of the apportionment of congressional districts to the state. Districts change when as people move in or out, and as people are born or die.

As I read the letter, “Make Your Voice be heard”, I can clearly see that the writer is confused. The write is complaining about redistricting, but clearly has a voter integrity issue.

Still in the first paragraph of her letter she points out that in 2010 the Democrats were disadvantaged because they won 5 of 18 seats. The truth is 25 seats were up for grabs, 10 were won by Democrats and 15 by Republicans. 9 candidates were unopposed, 4 democrats and 5 Republicans. Also, in 2010 we had a Democratic Governor Ed Rendell. So I’m having trouble seeing how she thinks that Republicans have anything to do with Democratic losses.

I’m also wondering why the writer is, all of a sudden concerned about the outcome of an election that happened almost 11 years ago. Since she is concerned about the election integrity from 11 years ago, she is clearly

someone who should be signing the petition to have to 2020 election audited.
