Lock Haven JAMS gets high marks

York Street Hustle even had the staff at Stella A’s up and dancing Saturday night

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The sixth annual Lock Haven JAMS got plenty of community high marks for its two-day run completed in the downtown Saturday night as a huge throng enjoyed Philadelphia’s York Street Hustle performing in front of the Elks Lodge.

JAMS director Steve Getz said he could not be anymore elated with all the artisans, musical performances and the exceptional turnout over the weekend, calling the event “a spectacular infusion of music and creativity.”

“The CCAC / LH JAMS’s goal has always been to expand how visitors view a wide range of musical genres and art. To never to be predictable and always push visitors into appreciating a unique cultural experience. It was truly a spectacular sight over the weekend with such a diverse crowd, many coming to Lock Haven for the first time and seeing first hand why we love this city and choose to live in Central PA. LH JAMS is more than just a music and arts festival. It is a showcase for the community.”

Getz was effusive in his praise for community members who made the weekend a success: “I am so blessed to have such amazing friends that volunteer each year, along with community partners that help to sponsor and promote the festival. It takes all of these pieces to make this work. Individuals, business and organizations that share our vision and understand the importance of diversity. That embrace new experiences not only for entertainment but as a way to expand their appreciation of various forms of art and to even embrace other cultures. On Saturday the world seemed a little smaller when we listened to Latin jazz with Spanish vocals being performed off of the Elks patio stage. Not only performed but to a standing ovation! A few years ago, that would have been hard to imagine. I would like to think, LH JAMS has had a small part in helping to propagate this atmosphere over the past six years.”
