Preliminary Lock Haven street signal work underway
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Initial work has begun towards upgrading some ten traffic signals in Lock Haven. According to city public works director, Tony Stopper, the work being performed is part of a project by PennDOT for Route 150 improvements. He said M and B Services, LLC of Clarion is the lead contractor, the same firm that completed the E. Church Street Streetscape project last year.
Intersections scheduled for upgrade:
- Jay/Church
- Jay/Main
- Bellefonte/Commerce
- Water/Grove
- Main/Hanna
- Main/Grove
- Main/Vesper
- Church/Vesper
- Church/Henderson
- 5-way intersection @ Bellefonte/Church/Corning
- Installation of a Rapid Response Flashing Beacon near Triangle Park (this will alert motorists that a pedestrian is in the walkway).
Utility line preparation work began at the Water – Grove streets intersection on Monday of this week.
Stopper said signalized intersections not being upgraded by PennDOT are Bellefonte/Second Avenue and Water Street/Fairview/Susquehanna Avenue. He said he does not have an estimated completion date, his understanding that there is a long lead time with obtaining signal supports from manufacturers. He said the contractor and PennDOT have been asked to notify the city when work is progressing so that motorists are informed.
