Hot weather won’t last; more seasonal readings expected for Memorial Day

Lock Haven’s Old Corner was able to move on to Grove Street as part of the city’s pedestrian mall weekend on Friday and Saturday. A second mall set-up is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 28-29.

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Unusually hot weather has engulfed Clinton County over the current weekend, but forecasters say it won’t be around for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

The National Weather Service office in State College is predicting a cool-off on Monday, temperatures not getting out of the mid 60s with the chance of showers around noon time. And the early outlook for next weekend is showers on Saturday, cloudy on Sunday and morning showers on Monday, Memorial Day.

But for this Sunday, stay cool.

Temperatures approaching 90 degrees brought out early swimmers to Lock Haven’s public Susquehanna River beach on Sunday.
