PSU DuBois claims another PSUAC title

DUBOIS, PA – Penn State DuBois last weekend won its third straight Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference title and three Central Mountain graduates were instrumental all season long for the Lions.

Senior Toner Corl anchored the team at shortstop and also pitched for the Lions. He put up a team-leading .416 batting average, along with a team-leading 37 RBIs and also had three homeruns. Fellow senior Talon Falls hit .294 with two homeruns and 17 RBIs while junior Trevor Hanna played second base, hit .338 with 25 RBIs and one homerun. Corl also spent some time pitching, starting four games, going 2-0 with an earned run average of 2.25.

Corl, Falls and Hanna were all standout players for Coach Mike Kramer at Central Mountain High School. Falls was also a member of the Keystone Little League World Series team a decade ago.

PSU DuBois had to beat top-seeded Mont Alto to claim the conference crown and qualify for the upcoming USCAA World Series. The City of DuBois will host the 8-team event, play beginning on Monday, May 17.
