Five Central Mountain youth wrestlers qualify for state tourney

JOHNSTOWN, PA – Five youth and junior high school wrestlers from the Central Mountain program have qualified for the Keystone Youth and Junior High State Championships.

They qualified at Sunday’s Central Regional qualifying tournament at the Johnstown War Memorial. Earning first places were Hunter Donley at 135 pounds in the youth 11-12 age group and Dalton Perry at 117 pounds at the junior high level.

Also advancing were Jake Weaver, second at 147 pounds at the junior high level; Gavin Heverly, fourth at 80 pounds in the 11/12 division; and Luke Ananea, seventh in the 117 pound junior high division.

The state tournament will begin Thursday, April 1, at the Monroeville Convention Center.
