Vigil scheduled Wednesday in Loganton for victim in Mile Run murder case

LOGANTON, PA – Roads to Peace (formerly the Clinton County Women’s Center) has announced a candlelight vigil on Wednesday in memory of Rebecca Landrith, the Virginia woman whose body was found at the Mile Run exit of Interstate 80 on Feb. 7.

The vigil will be held at 6 p.m. at the War Memorial site in Loganton.

The Roads to Peace organization posted news of the vigil on social media:

On the cold morning of February 7, at the isolated Mile Run exit of Interstate 80, the body of Rebecca Landrith of Virginia, was found alongside the roadway, in the snow, alone, shoeless, murdered.

Her life, although cut short at 47 years old, was nonetheless one that spread beauty and joy, through her job as a professional model, and also as an accomplished violinist.

She was important to many, and was a daughter, a sister, a friend.

Although the Mile Run exit is slightly inside of the Union County line, many local people consider that area to be the farthest edge of Sugar Valley. Therefore, the anti-violence, non-profit organization, Roads to Peace, are hosting a candlelight vigil in memory of Rebecca, in the neighboring borough of Loganton.

The event will take place in the center of Loganton, at the War Memorial on East Main Street near the bank, this Wednesday, February 24 at 6pm.

The public is invited, and encouraged, to attend, but is reminded that covid-safe procedures will be in place and that masks and social distancing will be enforced.

If you cannot attend in-person, check out our webpage remembering Rebecca Landrith to light a virtual candle: https://www.ccwcsafe.org/rebecca-landrith-vigil
