Police say case of body found at Mile Run a homicide
WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP, PA – State police have identified the body of a woman found Sunday at the Mile Run exit of Interstate 80 and they are terming the case a homicide.
Milton state police said the victim has been identified as Rebecca Landrith, 47, with a current address in Virginia. Their report said the victim has ties to several states to include South Dakota and Utah. Her body had been left along the off ramp of mile marker 199 on Interstate 80 east and next of kin has been notified.
They are calling the case a homicide and their investigation is ongoing. Union County District Attorney D. Peter Johnson said her death appears to have occurred recently. That county’s coroner, Dominick Adamo, said she was found fully clothed and without identification. An autopsy was to be conducted, details not yet available.
A PennDOT employee had discovered the woman’s body around 7 a.m. on Sunday. The Mile Run exit is some seven miles east of Loganton.
