Blair County man killed in Tuesday morning crash near Port Matilda, Centre County

RUSH TOWNSHIP, PA – Rockview state police say an Altoona man died in a multivehicle crash near Port Matilda around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The victim was identified as Joseph Heath, 49.

According to the police report, a rig operated by Natalia Oliferchuk of Forest Park, Ill was westbound on Route 322 (the Port Matilda Highway) when it went out of control and skidded into the eastbound lane, striking the Heath vehicle. The impact forced the Heath car into a nearby parked car. The rig operator was not injured.

Route 322 was closed to traffic for six hours. The area was under a winter weather advisory at the time of the accident.
