SAN FRANCISCO – Veteran NFL kicker and Central Mountain High School grad Robbie Gould is good for at least two more years in the National Football League. ESPN Sports reported Wednesday that the 38-year-old Gould has reached agreement on a new two-year, guaranteed $7.25 million contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers. Gould would have become a free agent at the conclusion of the current season.

So far in this, Gould’s 16th pro season, he has made 19-of-23 field goal attempts and 36 of 38 PATs.

Gould (6-0, 190) originally signed with the 49ers as a free agent on March 10, 2017. In his four seasons with San Francisco (2017-20), he has connected on 114 of 129 field goal attempts (88.4 percent) and 132 of 139 extra point attempts (95.0 percent) for 474 total points, which ranks eighth in franchise history. His 114 made field goals over the past four years ranks fourth in the NFL over that time span. Additionally, Gould’s 88.4 field goal percentage with the 49ers ranks as the highest in franchise history among kickers with 100-or-more field goal attempts. He also holds the San Francisco’s franchise record for most consecutive field goals made (33).

The Lock Haven native has been with the 49ers since 2017 after previous stints with the Chicago Bears (2005-15) and the New York Giants (2016).

The Penn State graduate has made 86.6 percent of his field goal tries (400 of 462) and 97.4 percent of his extra point attempts (531 of 545) in 236 games.

Earlier this month his 400th field goal moved him into eleventh place in the all-time NFL field goal list.
