COVID-19 Update: Daily State Case Number Increases; Clinton Up 28; Centre Up 63; Lyco Up 123

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health Tuesday confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., December 29, that there were 8,545 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 622,349. That is the highest daily increase in cases in the last five days.

As of 11:59 p.m. Monday, December 28, there were 267 new deaths reported statewide for a total of 15,086 deaths attributed to COVID-19. The Clinton County death total due to COVID-19 remained at 22.

Local counties’ numbers: Clinton County, up 28 to 1,878; Centre County, up 63 to 8,834; Lycoming up 123 to 5,797. Other area counties include Cameron, 139; Clearfield, 3,874; Potter, 565; and Union, 2,816.

Thus far 7.330 Clinton County residents have tested negative for COVID-19, up nine from Monday.
