First Day of Free Clinton Drive-Thru/Walk-In COVID-19 Testing Draws 280
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The first day of a five-day run of free COVID-19 tests in Clinton County has been completed. Some 280 tests were performed on Thursday. The turnout was brisk in the morning but slowed in the afternoon. The drive-through/walk-in site at the Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds can process up to 450 tests a day.
Andrew Kremser, Clinton County Emergency Services Director, monitored the site on Thursday. He encouraged the community to take advantage of the testing while available. He said the first recipients in line were present two hours before the 9 a.m. start time. The daily tests are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. thru Monday, Dec.14.
Testing is on a first come, first serve basis. Those seeking the test do not need to be showing symptoms or need a doctor’s recommendation to be tested. Tests will be conducted using mid-nasal passage swab and results will be available two to seven days after testing. While a majority of tests will be drive through, walk up testing is also available.
A 15-member crew from AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is on site, staffed with trained personnel, and is carrying out the tests, part of a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to perform testing events throughout rural Pennsylvania.
