COVID-19 Update: Staggering State Jump; Clinton, Up 30; Centre, Up 65; Lyco, Up 195
HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health COVID Data Dashboard Thursday said that as of 12:00 a.m., Dec. 3, that statewide there were a record 11,496 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 386,837. The 11,496 total is far and away a new one-day record, exceeding the previous high of 8,425 new cases on Nov. 26.
The state reported an additional 187 deaths (the second highest one-day total) attributed to the coronavirus, the state total 10,944.
Local counties’ numbers: Clinton County, up 30 to 822; Centre County, up 65 to 6,538; Lycoming up 195 to 2,510. Other area counties include Cameron, 30; Clearfield, 1,933; Potter, 307; and Union, 1,781.
Thus far 6,195 Clinton County residents have tested negative for COVID-19, an increase of 29 from Wednesday.
