First Quality Tissue to Expand Towel and Tissue Products Manufacturing Capabilities
GREAT NECK, NY – First Quality Tissue has announced plans for the addition of two new tissue machines and local officials are hopeful one of those will be situated at First Quality Tissue in Castanea Township.
Announcement of the expansion came last week from First Quality headquarters on Long Island:
GREAT NECK, NY, July 23, 2020/ – First Quality Tissue – is pleased to announce its plans to install two new state-of-the-art Thru-Air-Dried (TAD) technology tissue machines each with complete lines of converting equipment. First Quality Tissue estimates the first machine to be operational in the third quarter of 2022; with the second machine coming online approximately twelve months thereafter. The location(s) where the machines will be installed will be announced in the fourth quarter of this year.
This new investment will add additional capacity of 150,000 tons per year to First Quality’s current capabilities; and is yet another demonstration of First Quality’s dedication to satisfying the needs of the market by providing high quality tissue products to First Quality’s customers and consumers.
Mike Flanagan, President/CEO of the Clinton County Economic Partnership, said his agency is ready to help in the effort to locate a fourth machine in the county: “We are aware that First Quality Tissue is doing its due diligence on a few different options. We stand ready to assist in any way possible to have at least one of the machines come to Lock Haven/Castanea. No matter what happens, First Quality is just a tremendous growth story and we are thankful they are part of our greater community.”
First Quality Tissue’s local facility houses three tissue-manufacturing machines, the most recent coming online last year. That expansion at the Castanea complex had first been announced in late 2014. First Quality also has a tissue-manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC.
