Millbrook Announces Virtual “Fun Home” Reunion for Thursday
MILL HALL – “Fun Home,” the Tony-award musical based on the growing-up years of Beech Creek native Alison Bechdel, had a successful off-and-then-on Broadway run from 2013 to 2016. And it was more than warmly received when Millbrook Playhouse staged the show in 2017.
Millbrook has announced that on Thursday, July 9, at 7 p.m. it will hold a “virtual” reunion with the local show’s cast, hosted by playhouse artistic director David Leidholdt.
Details have been posted on Millbrook’s Facebook page:
Since you can’t come to the barn in person, we are bringing the people to you – virtually!
Join us Thursday, July 9th, at 7:00 pm for another incredible Virtual Millbrook Reunion.
After the success of “Leading Ladies” and “The Show Must Go Online” virtual events, we are bringing back more of your favorite alumni from Millbrook’s recent history. This time we will host members from the mega-hit musical FUN HOME.
Joining us for the “Fun Homecoming” will be the productions distinguished director and choreographer, Courtney Laine Self, and members from the 2017 production, including Samm Carroll-Hudson, Anya Rothman, Jamie Beth Weist, John Tedeschi, Kali Haines, Steven Makropoulos. (other cast and team TBA.)
This incredible group of artists will be “sitting down” with Artistic Director David Leidholdt, to catch-up on their lives, careers, and how they are surviving in a covid world without the performing arts. This celebration will take you backstage, virtually, and give you an insider’s perspective of what it was like to mount the regional premiere in the town where the story all took place.
Though we won’t be presenting the full show, if you tune in, you may be lucky enough to hear a few songs from the production.
This is a free event, but donations are gleefully accepted.
