Ribbon-Cutting Held for State House Candidate Waltz

LOCK HAVEN – A ribbon-cutting was held Wednesday for the campaign headquarters for Joe Waltz, Democratic candidate for the State House from Pennsylvania’s 76th district. Waltz wielded the scissors with Rose Reeder, chairman of the Clinton County Democratic Party. The location at 108 Bellefonte Avenue in Lock Haven will serve as joint headquarters.

Waltz spoke briefly to those in attendance. He emphasized he would be a representative for all residents of the 76th district: “I don’t care if you’re young or old; I don’t care if you’re a man or woman; I don’t care about your race or what religion; I don’t care who you are.” He said all district residents would be his constituents and he will be responsive to all.

Waltz earned the Democratic nomination in the June 2 primary election. Incumbent Republican Rep. Stephanie Borowicz will be his November opponent. Both were unopposed in their June primaries.

Among those in attendance at the Waltz ribbon-cutting was former state House whip Mike Hanna Sr. The elder Hanna had retired as 76th district representative two years ago and Borowicz defeated Hanna’s son, Mike Jr. in November of 2018.
