Lock Haven Pedestrian Walkway Open for Week-End Number Two
LOCK HAVEN – Downtown city businesses are hopeful that possible thunderstorms hold off Friday evening as East. Main Street from Jay to Vesper Streets has been blocked off to through traffic to create a pedestrian walkway.
This Friday and Saturday mark the second weekend in a row that the walkway has been set up to assist downtown businesses in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Leo’s Italian & Specialty Foods (seen above) is a new sidewalk/curb line participant on Friday. Half a dozen restaurants have taken to the street for outdoor dining, in response to CDC guidelines limiting indoor seating.
Also new this Friday night is the first concert at a temporary stage at Main and Grove Streets. Performing from 6 to 9 p.m. will be Private Stock Trio. Their appearance is sponsored by two Main Street restaurants, Stella A’s and the Texas.
Next Friday, June 26, the first Lock Haven Summer Concert Series presentation will be held at the same location; performing will be Big Willy, featuring Lock Haven native Bill Hatalski.
