City of Lock Haven’s 2020 Summer Concert Schedule Announced

It will be a new location for Lock Haven’s Friday evening concerts. The city intersection of E. Main and Grove Streets will be the site, starting Friday, June 26. The relocation is part of the city’s closure of Main Street in the Central Business District on Fridays and Saturdays this summer.

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven’s summer concert series, threatened by the coronavirus, is now a go for 2020. City Hall made the announcement on Wednesday:

After careful planning and evaluation by the Summer Concert Series Committee to ensure the safety of residents and musicians, The City of Lock Haven is pleased to announce the 2020 Summer Concert Series. The schedule, which includes 11 performances on Main Street and 5 performances at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater and Floating Stage offers a variety of music including blues, rock, jazz, country, and bluegrass.

This year, the concerts traditionally held at Triangle Park, have been moved to Main and Grove Streets, to allow outdoor diners and shoppers the opportunity to enjoy music on Main Street, and provide ample space for residents to practice social distancing. Kicking off our Friday night series on June 26 will be Big Willy. Other performances include John Stevens Polka Band on July 3, Cadillac Cats on July 10h, Biscuit Jam on July 17, Heather Olson and the Silver Eagle Band on July 24, Robert Pignatello on July 31, Cass + Mike on August 21, and ending the Friday night concerts will be Flashback on August 28. There will also be a Saturday night concert on August 1, with The Clark McClane Band performing. All concerts will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and those interested in attending the free concerts are invited to bring their own chair, or enjoy the band while dining at one of downtown’s unique restaurants.

On the Floating Stage at the Corman Amphitheater, the season will kick off with the Jeremy Edge Project on Sunday, June 28. The schedule includes Inca on July 12 ; Hybrid Ice on July 26, Uptown Music Collective on August 8 and DuMM on August 23. Once again, the Summer Concert Series has partnered with the Clinton County Arts Council, and the LH Jams Festival, with a concert on Main Street on August 15. Performing that evening will be the Mo-town group York Street Hustle.

While the committee is excited to offer these 16 free concerts this summer, residents should remain vigilant to the threat of COVID-19 which has claimed the lives of more than 100,000 Americans and more than 6,000 Pennsylvanians including three in Clinton County. In order to successfully continue the summer concert series, residents and guests are to follow CDC and DOH guidelines in order to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 including social distancing between non-household members in the amphitheater, wearing masks, and sanitizing hands frequently. To that end, the city will provide hand-washing stations at each of the summer concerts. Anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or is included in a higher risk population are encouraged to keep their health and the health of their fellow residents as their primary interest and not attend.

This year’s schedule will be published on the City’s website at www.lockhavenpa.gov. Schedules will be available at the first concert in on Friday, June 26 on Main Street and every concert as supplies last.

The City of Lock Have’s summer concert schedule is made possible by sponsorships and community donations.
