Salvation Army Lock Haven Details Services in Time of Need

LOCK HAVEN – The Salvation Army of Lock Haven has had to make several adjustments over the past few weeks to ensure the health and safety of the people of Clinton County.

In an update from Tabitha Hayes, Social Services Coordinator, some of the Army staff met with Captain Dan Johnson and Hayes on Monday to discuss necessary adjustments to services in order to continue to follow CDC and government laws. She said, “The most important thing we want our community to know is that The Salvation Army of Lock Haven is still here to help!”

The following services have all been transitioned to a weekly food box distribution:

More Than Bread Soup Kitchen
Free Food Program
Food Pantry

Now Offering: COVID-19 Food Box Distribution on Tuesdays or Fridays (Day of choice is Clients) 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at The Salvation Army, 119 East Church Street Lock Haven, from in front of the building.

Distribution days will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays except Good Friday. Clients will be instructed to walk up or drive up to the curb in front of the Citadel. Clients are to remain at least six feet away from the building as well as remain 6 feet away from other clients seeking assistance. This is to ensure their safety as well as the staff. A staff member will open the door and place a food box along with a grocery bag containing frozen meat onto a table outside. Once the door is closed, the client may walk up to the table to get their food box. The food box will contain a weeks’ worth of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If client chooses to pick up their box on Tuesday, then they would be eligible for another box the following Tuesday. If the client chooses to pick up their box on Friday, then they would be eligible for another box the following Friday (except Good Friday – They will get a double portion on the previous Friday to give them enough food).
