Clinton County Camp Cadet Cancelled for 2020
LOCK HAVEN – Clinton County’s longstanding Camp Cadet program will not be held this June due to concerns about COVID-19. The announcement came from the organization’s president, Charles Shoemaker:
The Board of Directors has decided out of an abundance of caution to cancel this year’s Camp Cadet program that was to be held at the Lock Haven University Sieg Conference Center in June because of COVID-19. We know this decision will adversely impact the 90 children that were scheduled to attend this year’s program, especially with all schools in the county being closed at this time, but this action is necessary because of this extraordinary National Emergency.
The Board of Directors has further decided to cancel our Golf Outing that was to be held on July 18 at the Clinton Country Club. We recognize that our past sponsors are financially being impacted because of this National Emergency.
On behalf of our Camp Cadet Family we want to assure the children of Clinton County that we will be resuming our program in 2021. If a child has registered for this year’s program they will have preference during the selection process next year. Next year we will allow age 15 children to apply because of this cancellation.
In the next week or so we will contact our sponsors who donated to this year’s program and we will return your contribution.
To our law enforcement community, first responders, firefighters, EMS personnel along with all the other wonderful volunteers that have made our program so successful in the past thirty years we thank you for your service and be safe during these trying times.
Charles Shoemaker,
Preident, CCPCC
