State of Emergency Declared for Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN – City Mayor Joel Long on Wednesday signed a “Declaration of State of Emergency for the City of Lock Haven.”
Its thrust, according to Long, is for the city to continue to provide essential services but restricts public access to city facilities. He noted the declaration applies to city operations and not to private business.
Long said the intent is to protect both city employees and its citizens: “Council is taking this situation very seriously and doing everything possible to protect not only our employees but the citizens of Lock Haven. I urge you to follow the recommendations of the CDC to slow the progress of this virus and give the experts time to find the best solution to the threat facing us. Thank you to the dedicated first responders and health care professionals who are working hard to minimize the impact to our community.”
