All Clear on “Suspicious Package” at Lock Haven City Hall
LOCK HAVEN – It turns out a “suspicious package” found on the front porch at Lock Haven’s City Hall turned out to be a bag full of items from clothing apparel to a baby doll. A special state police unit from Harrisburg was called in Monday morning after city hall personnel discovered the bag.
The state police unit finished its work and local emergency personnel were dispatched back to quarters before 1 p.m. Monday. Whoever may have left the bag, city police chief Kristin Smith said, there appeared to be no intention to cause malice. Two passers-by told therecord-online they had first seen the black-and-white bag on the elevated porch along E. Church Street on Saturday.
City Hall was closed Monday morning upon discovery of what a city release said was a “suspicious, unattended package.” Traffic was rerouted around Church and Liberty streets until an all-clear was given.
A city spokesman said City Hall would reopen with regular hours on Tuesday.
