Out with the Old, In with the New
LOCK HAVEN – The City of Lock Haven has begun a trash can replacement program, six of the new cans installed last week in place of old, painted barrels.
The new cans were put in place on Main Street between Jay and Grove. According to city public works director, Tony Stopper, the cans were purchased through a pledged effort by City Council with the city’s Capital Improvement Plan.
Stopper said local contributions are welcomed for the purchase of additional cans. For each additional can the city will match 50/50 with local contributors up to $10,000 a year, each can $448.95. He said there should be enough funding remaining to purchase another 15 trash receptacles. Should a business or local contributor like to donate they can contact City Hall at 570-893-5900.
