Tiger Den Playground Opened to the Public
LOCK HAVEN – The Tiger Den playground off W. Bald Eagle St. in Lock Haven has reopened to the public. City council vice-president Joel Long made the announcement on Friday.
Long, a playground developer and a member of the Tiger Den committee, said the Keystone Central School District and the playground committee worked together to make the facility open to the public beyond use by nearby Dickey Elementary students during the school year.
The district had closed the facility to general public use some years ago over concerns about vandalism to the fenced-in playground.
Long posted the reopening announcement on social media and asked the public to keep the park safe and clean. He said volunteers are working to unlock and lock the gate so the hours may not be exact and asked for patience. “Anyone wishing to volunteer with maintenance and cleaning can contact me,” Long said.
