Lady Bucks’ Poorman No-Hits Lady Quakers
MILLVILLE – The Bucktail Lady Bucks moved to 2-0 on the season off a strong performance by freshman Emma Poorman in her varsity debut in the circle with a no-hitter. Poorman then turned around in the batter’s box with a grand slam, part of a 3-for-4 showing on the night adding a double and a single to propel the Lady Bucks to a 19-1 three-inning mercy rule win over Millville (0-2).
Several other Lady Bucks helped Poorman to her victory as a team as Bucktail had 14 more hits. Emily Cross was 4-4 with two doubles and two singles. Tessa Cowfer was 3-3, all of them singles and was walked as the trio totaled twelve of the Lady Bucks’ runs. Rachel Goss was also 3-3 on a double and two singles.
Next up for the Lady Bucks is a road trip, Thursday, April 4, 2019 to Montgomery for 4:30 p.m. start.
