Lady ‘Cats Bounce Back with 2-1 Road Win at Milton

MILTON – The Lady Wildcats turned their fortunes around from a disappointing season opener on Tuesday by picking up a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Lady Panthers on the road.

Central Mountain plated all the runs they would need with a 2 RBI hit from Caitlin Watson in the top of the third inning for the 2-0 lead. Milton would answer back with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Alyssa Fisher led the offense with a pair of singles with Watson, Morgan Wetzel, Madi Knepp, Bailee Renninger, Alexa Shultz, Kylie Wagner, and Madylin Bechdel all had one hit each for the Lady ‘Cats.

Knepp stood tall in the circle for all seven innings striking out 2 of the 27 batters she faced in front of a very stingy and improved defense.

The balances the scales for Central Mountain now 1-1 and is the first win for new skipper, Fred Caldwell.

CM will next host District 6 rival, Bellefonte, tomorrow, Friday, March 29, 2019.
