LOCK HAVEN – City Council reorganized for the new year Monday night and Joel Long was selected as the new council vice-president.

Long replaces council member Steve Stevenson, who served in that capacity for the last five years. The vote was unanimous and done without comment. As per law, the council vice-president “shall have the power and duties of mayor during the absence or disability of the mayor.”

Mayor Bill Baney will continue in his capacity as mayor as he this year begins his fourth year in office, having been elected to his first term as mayor in 2015. Baney has not yet announced whether he will seek reelection this year.

Council also appointed council liaison with various city advisory boards and commissions.
