Florida Investment Firm Seeking Lock Haven’s Fallon Hotel
LOCK HAVEN – Thereord-online has learned it is a Florida investment firm seeking to purchase the Fallon Hotel on Water St. in Lock Haven.
The prospective sale of the closed hotel came to light in October when realtor Melanie McLane of Jackson Real Estate confirmed that a sale was pending. No other information was released at the time.
Last week a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board placard was placed on the front of the building, stating a liquor license transfer was pending to “C & Q Tavern LLC.” Therecord-online has subsequently learned that the proposed purchaser is based in Florida and is seeking a license transfer for the Fallon and two additional businesses in the Northern Tier. Beyond that, no additional information has been found.
The Fallon, a Water Street landmark which has fallen on hard times in the last decade or two, had been posted for sale in January of this year after the building’s heating system gave out and the final handful of tenants moved out.
The current owners are Terry and Dolores Mantle of Jersey Shore. According to courthouse records, the Mantles purchased the Fallon in 1997 from Charles and Hazel Stevenson for $104,000. The asking price as of January of this year was $275,000. The sale had been listed “as is.” There was a report elsewhere of a sale price of $199,000 last month.
