Lady ‘Cat Volleyball Earns 3-1 ‘Pink Out’ Win over Shamokin

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat volleyball team had to use four games to get past visiting Shamokin for a big PHAC 3-1 win.

Central Mountain edged Shamokin to pick up the first two games, 25-21 and 25-22 on the night then Shamokin responded with a 25-23 win of their own to force a fourth game.

Then the Lady Wildcats settled down and pounded out a 25-16 win to pick up their third win and end the contest.

Jenni Skow set the pace for CM with 8 aces, 9 kills, and 29 digs. There was plenty of strong play at the net for the Lady Wildcats with Evie Rembold collecting 10 kills and 3 blocks. Loni Duck was contributing high and low, recording 10 kills, 4 aces and 21 digs. McKenzi Hanna had 9 kills and Destiny Carter had 4 kills on the night for Central Mountain.

Skylar Falls contributed 18 digs, while Taylor Kinley had 23 assists and Abby Brinker had 2 aces and 10 assists on the night.

The Lady Wildcat volleyball team observed their ‘Pink Out’ game tonight with several raffles and fund raising activities to bring awareness to and fight breast cancer. Special guest, Jodi Koch, who has two daughters that graduated from Central Mountain was the guest speaker who shared her experience in her battle to beat breast cancer.

Next up for the Lady Wildcats is a home match with Philipsburg-Osceola, Saturday, October 13, 2018. The JV game will begin at 10 a.m. with the varsity to follow at 11:30 a.m.
