‘Coffee Guys’ Reunite at Remodeled Lock Haven KFC

LOCK HAVEN – It has been a tradition for 35 years, a gang of retired area men gather at the Lock Haven KFC on Bellefonte Avenue for coffee and the sharing of stories.

The group had to go without their regular morning meeting for 11 days as the KFC went through an interior remodeling as part of an overall business spruce-up. They were pleased to return Friday morning, got their coffee and a cookie and gathered around a new table.

Local KFC owner Neil Cocolin welcomed the morning regulars. The group has special dispensation from the local restaurant to come in before the official 10:30 a.m. opening time, usually arriving around 9 a.m. Members gathering for a group picture were, from the left, Lou Magent, Bill Eisemann, George McKenzie, Terry Shultz, Dean Somerville, Vince Shay, Ron Bowes and Dave Somerville. “Coffee Guy” regular Craig Dean Willis was absent for the photo op. Members said he’s usually a late arrival.

KFC’s drive-through had remained open during the renovations. As of Friday morning, operations inside and outside were back to normal.
