Lady Bucks Get Past CMVT, 8-6

BLOOMSBURG – The Lady Bucks sneak a victory away from Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech as the Bucks scored two runs in the seventh inning to defeat CMVT 8-6. This game was resumed from last week as CMVT had a 2-1 lead after one full inning.

In the top of the second inning Tessa Cowfer drew a walk and stole all three remaining bases to score, tieing the game at 2-2. In the third Lady Bucks would add another run on CMVT mistakes as Myka Poorman would reach base on a error with two outs. She eventually scored on another error as she was stealing third base.

The Lady Rams would answer right back in the bottom half and score from a error by the Lady Bucks to knot the score at 3-3. It was in the bottom of the fourth inning were CMVT had three straight singles and all three hitters scored and put CMVT up, 6-3 after four full innings.

Bucktail would score two runs in the fifth as Sara Kepler reached first base on a error. She would score from a bases loaded walk. Anna Cowfer worked a walked and scored from a deep sacrifice fly ball by Emily Cross in the inning. Lady Bucks would add another run in the sixth as Emma Intallura would reach first base on another CMVT error, then proceeded to steal second and then third base. Kepler would smash a single to centerfield to score Intallura and tie the game 6-6.

Between Poorman’s pitching and the Lady Bucks defense in the last three innings, proved to be the difference at the right time of the game. Poorman striking out 4 batters and Cross form the catchers position turned a double play in the sixth innning. The momentum was all going the Lady Bucks way in the seventh inning Maria D’Onofrio would lead-off with a walk. Poorman would score her on a deep double to left field. Poorman would score on a groundout.

Poorman was 1-for-2 and scored three times and walked twice.

Lady Bucks 6-9 are going to travel to St. John Neumann on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. start.
