Lady Bucks Pick Up 5-3 Win over Millville
FARWELL – The Lady Bucks ended their four game losing streak by defeating Millville by a score of 5-3. It was not an easy victory as Millville would score in the first inning on errors. The Lady Bucks scored in the third inning as Maria D’Onofrio singled to lead -off. Myka Poorman and Emily Cross would each single as D’Onofrio would score off of Poorman’s hit. Making it 1-1.
Millville would score one in the fourth and fifth inning. In the fifth inning, the Lady Bucks would bat around and post four runs to grab the lead 5-3. With one out, Emma Intallura, Aaliyah McGowan and Tessa Cowfer would each single as T. Cowfer would gather two RBI. Then Millville’s pitcher struggled as they waled in the next two runs.
Bucktail’s defense in the last two innings of Millville bats held strong as the Lady Bucks held on for the victory. Bucktail’s Cross was 2-for-2 and walked twice for one RBI. T. Cowfer went 2-for-4 and two RBI.
Next for the Lady Bucks (5-8) is at Columbia-Montour VT starting at 4:30 p.m.
