In Your Shoes “Walk and Roll Celebration”

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – In Your Shoes recently held their “Walk and Roll Celebration at Central Mountain High School Don Malinak Stadium. The free family event offered games, basket raffles, a concession, and prizes for participants. Families registered upon arriving and received a lap card and tickets for the Chinese auction. Participants of all ages walked, ran, or wheeled laps around the field. Each lap received a hole punch on the lap card.

In total, 202 lap cards were registered and over 1,900 laps were walked during the event. The event was created to raise some funding for the organization but also awareness about In Your Shoes and what the organization does for the families and students in the school district. Prizes included a flat screen TV, bikes, a fit bit, and numerous outdoor activity baskets. The event was sponsored by Woodlands Bank and was a partnership with #KeystoneCares.

The #KeystoneCares theme for the month of April was “Get Active, Be Healthy”. Individuals from KCSD, Clinton County Government, Children and Youth, Probation, Clinton County Women’s Center, West Branch Drug and Alcohol, PA Career Link, and many others including local non-profit organizations.

In Your Shoes is a 501C3 non-profit organization whose mission is to assist students grades K though 12 in Keystone Central School District participate in extra-curricular activities through funding registration fees and obtaining needed equipment. In Your Shoes has funded students in Little League, Youth Football, middle and high school sports, dance, and more. The activity does not necessarily have to be school sanctioned for In Your Shoes to help a child participate.
