Bucktail Students Build Benches for Community

Bucktail students pose with two of the five benches that they constructed for their community. The project was possible through a grant from the Clinton County Chapter of PA Association of School Retirees Educational Support.

RENOVO – A Clinton County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees Educational Support Grant was awarded to Bucktail High School for the construction of five benches for the Renovo area. Chapman Township, Renovo Borough, Renovo Little League, Bucktail Medical Center, and the Salvation Army were all recipients of a new bench constructed by students at Bucktail with the guidance of Mr. Bill Probst, construction trades teacher.
“This was a very good project for the students to learn the basic construction skills, measurement skills, hand and power tool skills, painting skills, print reading skills, and teamwork skills” said Probst. “They also learned about giving back to their community” he continued. Probst and his students thanked the organization for selecting them for the grant and for putting students first.
