Milton Edges Wildcats 3-2

tennisMILTON – The Wildcat tennis team stumbled against the Black Panthers on the road tonight falling 3-2 to Milton.

Wildcat, Matt Schubach had CM’s only singles win using a tie-breaker round to defeat Milton’s Andy McNeal, 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. At No .2 singles it was Milton’s Eric Counsil getting past Central Mountain’s, Raahi Chapla, 6-3, 6-4. Kyle Wagner picked up another win at No. 3 singles defeating Central Mountain’s Morgan Talbot, 6-4, 6-1.

At No. 1 doubles, Micah Brinker and Gavyn Walker picked up the Wildcat’s last win of the day, besting Milton’s Cole Geiger and Tory Ayala, 6-1, 6-3. Milton’s Josh Kera and Zach Burkhart closed out the day with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Cm’s Kaden Powers and Ujjval Adroja.

The losss balanced the scales for Central Mountain on the season at 6-6.

Next up for the Wildcats is the District 6 singles tournament at Altoona, Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
