Bucks Baseball Struggles with CMVT

FARWELL – The Bucktail Bucks started the game on the right foot Wednesday but then the game went sour and Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech won in five innings by a score of 16-5. In the first inning Bucktail would catch the lead-off batter stealing home and get the next two batters out. Gage Sutliff would lead-off with a towering homerun to leftfield as the Bucks led 1-0.
In the second inning CMVT would quickly get adjusted to Bucktail’s pitching as they scored 7 runs on 6 hits. Bucktail would answer back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Cameron Sockman and John Shadle lead off with singles. Tanner Riggle and Sutliff would each single for RBI’s. Riggle then would steal home for the third run of the inning and making it 7-4 Rams.
CMVT would score two runs in the third and seven more in the fourth. Bucktail would find one more run in the fifth as Sutliff singled and scored off a Serafini single.
Sutliff was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI. Shadle and Riggle each went 1 for 1 as C. Sockman was 1 for 2 for the day.
Now 3-3 after losing three in a row, Bucktail will play Friday at home against Sullivan County, starting at 4:30 p.m.
