Mackeyville Barn Fire Cleanup Underway

Less than 12 hours after the final flames were extinguished and remnants were still smoldering, Amish men from across southern Clinton County descended on the site of a massive barn fire along Mackeyville Road to begin a cleanup and rebuilding of the destroyed structure. The fire was at the Allgyer farm, formerly Willow Creek Farm. Flames were reported at 6:15 p.m. and first responders said someone inside the barn reported smelling burning plastic, got horses inside to safety and contacted firemen. Amish neighbors were at the scene at daybreak today to remove the building’s remains. Firemen from much of Clinton County and parts of Centre County responded to the initial alarm.
