Bucks Blitz Phoenix for 3-0 Start

FARWELL – After the fourth consecutive postponement by Mother Nature, Bucktail (3-0) baseball has started the season off with three straight wins: against Sugar Valley Rural Charter School twice and Galeton. The most recent win was Tuesday when Sugar Valley would come to Bucktail for a rematch. This time Bucktail would end the game in four innings by the fifteen run rule, winning 21-6.
After two innings, Bucktail was up 8-6. In the third inning, Bucktail would score nine runs off of five hits and two errors by the Phoenix. Tanner Riggle went 3 for 4 on three singles, scoring three times. Cameron Sockman was 2 for 3. Gage Sutliff was smashing the ball well as he was 5 for 5 with a double and four singles and three stolen bases. Bucktail again would have a big day at the plate with 17 total hits.
Bucktail had won the first game against SV in six inning by a score of 17-7. SV would score two runs in the top of the first inning as Bucktail would answer back with three runs of their own in the bottom frame. Sutliff would lead off with a triple and go 4 for 5 in the game, adding a double and two singles.
Devin Serafini was at the plate six times and was walked five times. John Francis was 2 for 3 with a double. Logan Long went 3 for 5 hitting a big triple. Gunner Sockman was strong at the plate 3 for 4 on three singles and never seeing home plate.
Bucktail would score three runs in every inning until the fifth as they scored four and one in the sixth to end the game with the ten run rule. SV would battle back in the fourth inning as they scored five runs. Bucktail finished the game with 17 hits.
Bucktail traveled to Galeton for a shorter game as Bucktail won 15-5 in six innings. Bucktail would continue to swing the bats as they would excel with 15 hits and Galeton would walk 13 Bucks at the plate. The Bucks would not score until the second inning as they posted two runs. Galeton would come up in the bottom of the inning answering with one run. Bucktail would add seven runs in the third. Richard Perry would lead the inning off with a walk as he would go 2 for 4 in the game. G. Sockman was 2 for 4, Liam Dwyer was 2 for 3. Sutliff was 3 for 5 with a double. Serafini went 2 for 3 and Francis showed a 3 for 4 with a double.
Galeton would add one in the third inning and three more runs in the fifth as Bucktail would add two more runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning for the final score. Bucktail pitchers would post 12 strikeouts all together.
Bucktail will be traveling to Millville on Wednesday. Then on Friday the Bucks will travel to Montgomery. Monday the Bucks will host Benton as all games will start at 4:30 p.m.
