McCaleb, Jones Set New School Records for Wildcats
HOLLIDAYSBURG – The Central Mountain track and field teams had a tough outing on the road at Hollidaysburg on Tuesday with the boys falling 111-39 and the girls losing 91-55.
There were plenty of bright spots though for both squads as two school records were broken.
For the Lady Wildcats Sadie McCaleb took first in the javelin setting the new mark for Central Mountain with a throw of 126′ 4″.
Other firsts for the Lady ‘Cats came from the 3200M relay team of Alyssa Laughner, Madison Myers, Aylin Yakut and Ashley Kline, who combined for a time of 11:08. Laughner also took first in the 1600M run in 6:12 and Myers took first in the 800M run in 2:39.
The Lady Wildcats swept the shot-put with Sarah Probst first with 28′ 6″; Alyssa Dickey second with 26′ 5″ and Makah Charles third with 25′ 10″.
Amelia McCloy placed first in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5’ 2″.
Kenny Jones set the new school mark for the ‘Cats in the 100M dash with a time of 11:17 and also picked up top honors in the 200M dash in 23:59 and the Long Jump, clearing 20′ 4.5″.
Corbin Green crossed the finish line first in the 3200M run in 10:21.
Vinnie Kopysciansky placed first in the discus, throwing 111’ 5″
Next up for the track teams is a home meet on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 when they will host Shamokin and St. Joseph’s Academy.
