‘Cats Edge Seals, 3-2
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain picked up a key win over Selinsgrove in boy’s tennis Tuesday, edging the Seals, 3-2.
CM’s Matt Schubach defeated Selinsgrove’s Connor Shaffer, 6-1 6-1 at No. 1 singles. The Seals’ Will Bailey got past Wildcat, Raahi Chapla, 7-5 6-1 at No. 2 singles with Selinsgrove picking up their final win of the day when Matt Carroll took Central Mountain’s Morgan Talbot in a tie-breaker win, 6-7, 7-5, 10-6.
The wildcats would sweep the doubles with CM’s Micah Brinker and Gavyn Walker besting Selinsgrove’s Luke Lyberger and Alec Gahring, 6-0 6-1 at No. 1 doubles while at No. 2 doubles, the ‘Cats’ Kaden Powers and Ujjval Adroja dropped the Seals’ Chris Kalcich and Sebastian DeOsambela, 6-0 6-2.
The win takes Central Mountain to 3-4 overall, 2-1 in the PHAC.
Neither team will have a chance to rest long as these two teams meet again tomorrow, April 11, 2018, in Selinsgrove. Today’s match was q makeup originally scheduled for April 3.
