Wildcats Edge Jersey Shore 3-2

tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain balanced the scales on the 2018 season with a 3-2 win over Jersey Shore in boys’ tennis. The win takes the Wildcats to 2-2 overall, 1-2 in the PHAC.

In No. 1 singles action, CM’s Matt Schubach defeated ‘Shore’s Alex Trunzo, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Wildcat, Raahi Chapla picked up a 6-2, 7-5 win over Bulldog, Mike Walker. Jersey Shore’s Niall Lanks got past Central Mountain’s Morgan Talbot, 6-3, 6-1.

The Wildcat duo of Micah Brinker and Gavyn Walker handed Jersey Shore’s Luke Maneval and Lincoln Lilly a 6-1, 6-4, loss at No. 1 doubles. The Bulldogs rebounded at No. 2 doubles with Eric Ball and Devin Hillyard Defeating the Wildcat’s Kaden Powers and Ujjval Adroja, 6-1, 6-4.

The ‘Cats will be on the road tomorrow, March 29, 2018 when they travel to District 6 rival, Hollidaysburg.
