Andrews, Malone Medal at States

MOON TOWNSHIP – Gymnasts from Central Mountain High School competed at the PA Classic Friday, February 23, 2018 which serves as the Pennsylvania state high school gymnastics championships.

Freshman Harleigh Andrews competed in the Bronze Division and took home second on bars (7.475) and beam (8.1) and became Central Mountain’s newest State Champion in the All Around (31.525) scoring 8.1 on vault and 7.85 on floor.

Freshman Tatum Malone competed in the Sliver Division and earned sixth on both beam (8.5) and floor (8.633) and scored a 7.45 at bars. Freshman Julia Schall competed on beam (7.5) and floor (7.96). Junior Hunter Barger competed the All Around in Silver (30.9975) scoring an 8.2 on vault, 7.1725 on bars, 7.375 on beam and 8.25 on floor.

Each gymnast qualified by obtaining scores at PIAA sanctioned meets as part of the Lock Haven Area YMCA Gymnastic Team. The team is coached by Becky Conklin, Lynda Brittan, Brad Fox, Mary Ballat, Maia Mash, and Jena Toner.
