Shikellamy Sprints to 60-12 Win over Lady ‘Cats

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was another tough outing for the Lady Wildcat basketball program as they fell to Shikellamy, 60-12 Monday night.

Shik sprinted out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter then rolled on to a 38-3 advantage at the break. CM’s scoring in the first half came off a steal for a breakaway layup by Morgan Wetzel and a free throw from Taylor Fletcher.

In the third quarter, the Lady Braves shut out Central Mountain once again outscoring the hosts 13-0 for a very commanding 51-3 lead.

The Lady ‘Cats finally put together some offense against the Shik bench in the fourth quarter matching the guests at 9-9 in the final period to set the final score at 60-12.

In the late rally, the Lady Wildcats had Talyn Fredericks use a layup and a field goal from outside the arc for 5 points, Summer Flanagan worked the baseline for a bucket and Fletcher had a 2 point field goal to round out the scoring.

The Lady Wildcats also observed their Coaches Against Cancer night.

The loss takes Central Mountain to 0-19 overall and 0-9 in PHAC play.

Central Mountain is on the road tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 at Shamokin.
