Wildcats Back on the Winning Track, Down ‘Shore 77-54

JERSEY SHORE – After suffering back-to-back losses, Central Mountain (8-4, 6-1) got back on track by besting neighboring rival, Jersey Shore, 77-54.

In the early going, ‘Shore hung in with Central Mountain in the first 8 minutes with the ‘Cats holding on to a slim 12-11 advantage. Then the Wildcats exploded for 23 points in the second quarter fueled by a 13 point effort from Collin Jones along with 5 points each from Matt Storeman and Jake Skrtich to set Central Mountain out in front, 45-20 at the break.

CM kept up the pressure in the third quarter outscoring the ‘Dawgs 22-15, stretching their lead to 67-35 with 1 period remaining. In the fourth quarter the Bulldogs kept pace with their guests but it was too little, too late with the Wildcats edging the hosts 20-19 to set the 77-54 final.

In another balanced effort, Jones finished with 21 to lead the ‘Cats while Storeman and Trevor Hanna each put up 13 points while Skrtich notched 11 points in all. Isaiah McCann dropped in 6 points with Trevor Adair adding 6 more and J.T. Pentz scored 4 points and Addison Thomas and Conner Soo each had 2 points in the books.

Central Mountain finished the game with nine rebounds (2 offensive / 7 defensive), one block and five steals.

Next up for the Wildcats is a home game Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 when they host PHAC foe, Shikellamy.
