Wildcat Hoops Roll over Midd-West, 62-31
MIDDLEBURG – Central Mountain (6-2, 4-1) picked up another PHAC road win, this time doubling up on Midd-West, 62-31.
The Mustangs kept pace with Central Mountain the early going with the Wildcats holing a narrow 11-10 lead after one quarter of play. The the ‘Cats went on a roll in the second quarter outscoring the hosts 18-5 to hold a 29-15 advantage at the break.
Midd-West regrouped over halftime and tried to battle back in the third quarter, but once again, CM prevailed outscoring the Mustangs 17-11, increasing their lead to 46-26 with 8 minutes remaining. Central Mountain kept up the pressure in the final period to run away from Midd-West 16-5 for the final 62-31 win.
Central Mountain used a balance attack with 9 members of the squad contributing to the effort led by Collin Jones with 21 points followed by Isaiah McCann with 10, Jake Skrtich, 8 and Matt Storeman with 7. Tyler Adair, Trevor Hanna and Tanner Lavelle contributed 4 points each while Addison Thomas and J.T. Pentz had 2 points each.
The Wildcats will next host Shamokin on Friday, Jan. 12, 2017.
