CM Battles Seals in OT for 58-51 Victory

SELINSGROVE – Central Mountain (6-2, 4-1) fell behind early but pulled out a key PHAC win with a late rally in overtime to defeat Selinsgrove 58-51.

The Seals set the pace early with a 16-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter then the Wildcats kept pace with the hosts still trailing 23-17 at the half.

CM began to close the margin in the third quarter edging the Seals 13-9, still trailing 34-30. In the fourth quarter, the ‘Cats began their final push outscoring Selinsgrove 13-9 to knot the score at 43-all to force overtime to settle the outcome.

Fueled by an 11-of-14 effort at the penalty stripe, led by Trevor Hanna’s 5-of-6 effort, Central Mountain continued their rally with a 15-8 effort to earn the win.

Hanna had 20 points in all an the night followed bt Collin Jones with 14. Matt Storeman dropped in 11 points more for CM with Isaiah McCann adding 9 points. Tanner Lavelle and Tyler Adair each had a basket to their credit for the Wildcats.

Central Mountain will next see action on the road at Midd-West, Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2017.
