No Tax Increase Budget Okayed by Lock Haven City Council
LOCK HAVEN — City council Monday night gave a first round approval for a no-tax increase budget for a third year in a row.
City Manager Rich Marcinkevage told council the city should be able to get through the next fiscal/calendar year without any change in the real estate levy. The city had approved a significant tax hike several years ago in anticipation of several years of no tax increases.
The recommended budget for the new year amounts to $11.095 million, compared to the 2017 approved document amounting to $11.16 million. If approved by council at its Dec. 18 meeting, 2018 will be the third year in a row without a tax hike in the city. A public hearing on the budget was held Monday night, but no comments were received.
