BC Legion Takes Central Penn Crown; Downs Bellefonte 12-1


BELLEFONTE — The Beech Creek American Legion baseball team on Saturday claimed another Central Penn League crown, finishing off the regular season with a 13-2 mark after a 12-1 five-inning win at Bellefonte.

Toner Corl went the distance for the Crickets, pitching a 3-hitter while striking out nine Bellefonte betters. He was backed by a 13-hit attack, including homeruns from Landon Breon and Austyn Carson.

Breon finished with a 3-run homer, a double and a single while Carson had a homerun and a single and four runs batted in. Brandon Miller had a single and a double and two walks, Talon Falls with two singles and two walks. Toner Corl drove in two runs with a single and singles also came from Asher Corl, Wyatt Koch and Connor Bauman.

The Crickets took the CPL last year with a 12-2 mark. They were scheduled for one more regular season game with State College this year, but since clinching the league title that contest will not be played. The league tournament is to get underway later this week, time and opponent to be announced.
